鯉のぼり

♪屋根より高い鯉のぼり♪

実際は私はマンション暮らしなので

屋根より高くなることはありません(笑)

来週はとうとうゴールデンウィーク

ということで我が家でも鯉のぼりを

出しました

うちには息子♂（7歳）がいるのですが

基本的に行事は息子がやるもの

私はそれを手伝う助手

になります

ただ1年に1回の行事なので

私も順番がわかりません

お父さん鯉が一番上で

その下がお母さん、最後が子供

調べてみると一番上は

吹き流し

と呼ばれる五色のヒラヒラ

これはもともと戦国時代に使われた魔除けの意味で掲げたのぼり

に使われていたもので鯉のぼりとは全く関係が

無かったそうです

これが江戸時代に鯉のぼりができた時に上に魔除けの

吹き流しをつけることが流行ったものが今に伝わって

いるとのこと

意味を理解すると忘れることが無いですよね


まだまだ息子♂が小さいので今年は助手の私が

ほとんど組み立てましたが

来年は今より大きくなった息子♂がメインで組み立てられるように

と出来上がった鯉のぼりに向かって願うのでした


♪Koinobori flying higher than the roof♪

In reality, I live in an apartment so the koinobori carp streamers don't fly higher than the roof (laughs).

Next week is Golden Week, and so we have put up our own koinobori carp streamers at home.
I have a son (7 years old) and he is usually the one to take charge of these events
while I help him as an assistant. However, as it is an event that only happens once a year,
I am not always sure of the correct order.

I did some research and found out that the very top of the koinobori carp
streamers is called

the "fukinagashi,"

which is a fluttering five-colored streamer originally used during
the Sengoku period as a charm against evil spirits.
It had no connection to the koinobori carp streamers themselves.
However, during the Edo period,
it became popular to attach the fukinagashi to the top of the koinobori carp streamers for decoration,
and this tradition has been passed down to this day.

Understanding the meaning behind the tradition makes it easier to remember, doesn't it?

As my son is still young, I did most of the work setting up the koinobori carp streamers this year.
However, next year,
I hope that my son will be able to take the lead and set them up himself as he grows bigger.
